Future Networks

Future Networks is a two day conference happening at York University in Toronto, Canada.

Scheduled for October 30 and 31, 2025, the conference will feature leading scholars from the UK, the USA, and across Canada.

Jennifer Rhee of VCU
Jennifer Rhee (Virgina Commonwealth University) is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and co-director of the AI Futures Lab at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research focuses on race, gender, disability, and labor across robotics and AI technologies, tech narratives, visual and performance art, and speculative fiction. Her most recent book is the experimental co-edited collection, Informatics of Domination (Duke University Press, 2025).
Nick Couldry of LSE
Nick Couldry (London School of Economics) is Professor of Media, Communications and Social Theory Emeritus and Professorial Research Fellow in the Department of Media and Communications at LSE. In the past 10 years, his work has increasingly focussed on data questions, and ethics, politics and deep social implications of Big Data and small data practices. He is the author or editor of 17 books and many journal articles and book chapters.
